Stunning picturesque glaciers, jagged and wild mountains exotic fiords, vast, stretching plains, rolling hillsides, subtropical forest, volcanic plateaus, miles of coastline with sandy beaches - New Zealand really does offer everything for everyone. No wonder New Zealand is fast becoming a top destination for international travellers.
Lying in the south-west Pacific, New Zealand consists of two main islands - the North Island and the South Island. Stewart Island and many smaller islands scatter its coast and are prime for exploration.
The North Island is New Zealand's most populous island, and offers mountain views and adventure with it's main range running through the middle of the island. The central North Island is dominated by the Volcanic Plateau, an active volcanic and thermal area that many flock to see and experience every year. The massive Southern Alps form the backbone of the South Island, and is one of the key reasons so many visit its rugged and jaw-dropping landscapes every year. The South Island also offers exotic beaches and bustling cities to visit.
